Trial Run

Blair is trying to make a post. Let's see how it goes.
Here's our family during Halloween. We went to Boo at the Zoo with our friends the Racz's. We met up with our friends the Le Breton's while Trick-or-treating on Goodnews in Belle Chasse, and Nene (our nanny friend) took the kids to the library for some more candy. Unfortunately, after earning all of that candy, a mouse got into Ashton's candy. I couldn't believe how sweetly our son took the news. "Really, Mama? A mouse? That silly goose!" And that was that! AMAZING! I was anticipating a KNOCK DOWN DRAG OUT FIGHT! The kid surprises me ever day.
PS Our family dressed up like Toy Story characters. Barbie, Woody, Jessie/Bullseye, and Buzz.

After asking Ashton if he was ready for bed, I got his new candid answer, "no no no!" 0ur little boy is just growing by leaps and bounds. He knows where his nose, eyes, ears, mouth, cheeks, belly, and bum are. He can even say most of them as well. He can tell us what a duck, sheep, and cow say. He loves to play outside and point at airplanes, birds and the stars. He is always so happy and full of laughs and smiles. His curiosity has gotten the best of him with his fascination with the toilet. Blair said he got really quite and she turned around to see him elbow deep in there with a cup... YUM YUM! Blair is still having a blast teaching in Belle Chasse and I am really loving my job too. I have amazing benefits, free Hornets versus Celtics and various others. I have been taking night classes at a local community college Delgado(del-ghetto to the locals) to further my education to become a RN and eventually become a Nurse Practitioner. We are really excited about the goals we have set and our future. We really love being here in the New Orleans metro area. We do miss my family in Idaho and Utah, but we've been blessed with amazing opportunities while here. Plus I haven't had to shovel one ounce of snow. It's fun to go to church and have missionaries there every Sunday and be able to have great relationships with them and have the spirit they bring with them into our home. We survived our first Mardi Gras here and Ashton loved the parades we saw. We also used his cuteness to collect lots of beads and cups.

Ashton found a plate of cupcakes and got real quite, here's the result.

Jazz Vs. Hornets

Ashton takes after his Dad and gnaws the meat off of his ribs.

Merry Christmas!

Christmas time was fun and super busy. Ashton is still not completely sure about presents as far as opening them, but he loves his new toys. He loved this little elf train that my parents got him, and Blair's mom hooked him up with some red boots. He loved spending time with his cousins at Blair's Dad's and brother's house. He loves to run around and play with them, especially loves playing with Matt Jr. and all of his cool toys.

Ashton the dancer

Ashton loves to dance to music, it is so funny to watch him. Guess he got his rhythm from his momma.

Fun in NOLA with Ma and Pa

New Orleans from the Riverwalk

Bourbon Street. I was surprised Dad wanted a pic here.

On my parents last day in Louisiana, we went to New Orleans and checked out the French Quarter and made sure to wear out my parents so they could sleep on their plane ride.

Ashton's first birthday

This is a little after the fact, but we're all pretty well settled in and have a few minutes to update our deprived blog. We held Ashton's birthday party at Todd's parents house in IF. Did the whole traditional thing of letting him feed his cake to himself. It was really fun to watch him take his first bite and the instant sugar fiend we made him.
His party then turned into the Blair and Ashton farewell party and we had a family pic. The next day we drove to Ogden to stay at my sister Heidi's place where Ashton ate most of Uncle Ron's grapes.

We've been super busy with work and Ashton, we've hardly had the time to check this let alone write something. We have a few pics of Ashton we wanted to share since he is pretty dang adorable. We had our first Easter with him and had fun with an egg hunt and Blair made an awesome bunny cake too. Ashton had so much fun, he fell asleep swinging. He also wanted to show he has way too much fun with his cousin Zach. Lastly, he was having so much fun in his bath his little feet got all wrinkled up.
